Who We Are
Founded in 1978, The North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit membership organization of individuals, businesses, government and non-profits interested in sustainable energy. Located in Raleigh, but active throughout the state, NCSEA works to ensure a sustainable future by promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency in North Carolina through education, public policy and economic development.
NCSEA knows that it takes much more than one program, policy or group to achieve a sustainable energy future and economy for North Carolina, which is why we work with NCSEA members, government officials, business leaders, communities, partner organizations and the general public. We believe the key to success is through removing policy barriers to market development, advocating for policies that will lead to a sustainable energy future, and educating North Carolinians about sustainable energy - all of which will help the industry grow.
NCSEA’s team of energy policy, education and outreach, and economic development specialists combined with its growing membership, volunteers and the generosity of our donors and grant funders have established NCSEA as the leading non-profit organization working with you to create a sustainable energy future for North Carolina. NCSEA is also a chapter of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). Click here to learn more about ASES.
